现在业内对高清DVR这一概念炒得比较火热，可能会有人把达标清的D1效果也称为高清。其实标清与高清的分界应该在于能否支持接入720P及以上的数字信号。若还以模拟的前端信号为主，哪怕用D1效果的数字硬盘录像机也称不上是高清的。
从用户应用的角度来看，目前应用较多的还属于标清系列的产品而并非高清的。但随着产品技术的成熟稳定及产品价格的往下调整，高清产品的应用也会慢慢普及。如：金融系统、公安、交警及对图像要求比较高的一些企业。
从现有工程上使用的产品推广过程而言，还是比较容易让甲方单位接受的，因为大家的认可度高了，但最主要还是在于其价格都比较能够让广大用户接受而且产品技术也慢慢趋于完善，使用和管理起来都比较方便。
